What to Expect From a Telehealth Visit
In most cases, you’ll schedule a telehealth appointment the same way you schedule a regular in-person visit to your doctor. The first thing you should do is call your doctor’s office to see if they have telehealth available for their patients. If they do, they’ll let you know what steps to take based on how their office handles telehealth appointments.
If offered a telehealth appointment by your doctor, you are not required to take it. You can tell your doctor that you prefer an in-person visit instead.
Below is a list of just some things that can be discussed or treated during a virtual visit with a doctor.
- Cold and flu symptoms
- Allergies
- Asthma
- Chronic pain
- Skin issues
- Stomach problems
- Minor injuries
- Women and men’s health needs
- Pediatric care
- Prescriptions
- Medication refills
