Health Plans in Massachusetts
Our goal is to bring more focused health care to our members both inside and outside of the exam room. We do this across multiple programs that serve Massachusetts residents.
MassHealth is the Medicaid program in Massachusetts that offers coverage at no cost for those that qualify. WellSense offers two types of MassHealth plans. Both have the same benefits package and it is only the network of doctors that are different for each plan.
Managed Care Organization (MCO) – We work with providers across the state to offer MassHealth to our members. We also participate in programs initiated by MassHealth such as the Special Kids Special Care which is managed by the Department of Children and Families.
Accountable Care Organizations (ACO) – We partner closely with key providers in the Greater Boston, West, and Southeast regions of the state to offer four unique plans that provide coordinated care to our members.

ConnectorCare plans are a type of Qualified Health Plan available through the MA Health Connector. Those who qualify for ConnectorCare will receive help covering their monthly premium costs.
Qualified Health Plans are available to those who qualify through the MA Health Connector. Help paying monthly premiums may be offered to some individuals depending on their income and family size.
Senior Care Options are available to individuals 65 years or older who also qualify for MassHealth Standard. Senior Care Options Plan (HMO SNP) members receive all of the MassHealth Standard and Medicare benefits, prescription drug coverage plus member extras—at no additional cost.
