Smoking: Quit While You're Ahead

Trying to quit smoking? We can help you with medications, nicotine patches, gum, and counseling to help you quit. Talk to your doctor about the best way to quit, and come up with a plan and date to quit by. If you have tried to quit before and haven't been able to, don't give up! When you get a craving, try to:

  • Take deep breaths
  • Find something to do with your hands, like playing with paper clips or a straw
  • Do something active, like taking a walk
  • Have a healthy snack like carrots or celery
  • Chew on gum or a mint
